No Service – August 22, 2021

Hello again Freedom and Liberty,

It seems COVID continues to rear its ugly head in our little community. I understand the folks who were sick last week are mending nicely. But we have another shift of folks who are just being diagnosed with the virus.

I spoke with Pastor Eddie a few minutes ago. He’s sounding much better, and his strength is improving. But, if you ever want to win a race with him, this might be the time to challenge him. 😊 After discussing where we are in this timeline, he suggested maybe we shouldn’t have services this Sunday to give the virus a chance to clear the congregation. The Elders agree.

We also agreed that we would resume our other regular meetings this week, so those who typically come to Tuesday morning prayer and Wednesday evening Bible Study can still plan to attend this week.

Those are smaller groups. If you feel comfortable coming to participate, we welcome you; if not, we totally understand. Please feel free to do what you believe is best for you and your family’s health. We respect and encourage that. No judgement here.

Meanwhile, nothing has changed about our core message. In spite of how things may look, Jesus loved us enough to provide for us by giving of himself. For that reason…

We continue to stand on the promise of 1 Peter 2:24 (ESV)

24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.

We trust the healing Jesus paid for on Calvary to be manifest in each of our fellow church family. We need each other’s prayers. If you know others in the church and our community who need prayer, please comment on our private Facebook page and/or reply to the email from Realm.

Stay tuned to our private Facebook page and Realm for more information.

  • Here’s my chance for a Public Service Announcement: If you are not signed up on Realm Connect, please send me your contact info* and I’ll get you on board. That way you’ll always get email alerts when we make these decisions or have other special announcements.
  • *Contact Info: I need your name, address, email address and phone number to get you in the system or to make sure you get emails if you’re already in our system. If you’ll give me your age and other family info, we’ll also make sure we get your family linked together. You can email me at
  • Realm Connect is available to those folks who are in regular attendance at Freedom and Liberty.

As always, we love you and pray for your safety, health, and well-being. As Peter reminded us in the scripture above, by the wounds Jesus suffered we have been healed. That’s not just a cute phrase or slogan. It’s what we know to be truth. Amen!
